Woe are They

November 18, 2016

Woe are they who have

sold the souls

of the faithful

for a thrilling touch

of the silk garments

of power;

they have pimped

their jesus

for a few pieces

of silver and

gold;

they have traded

their vision

for blinders

and taken

on the cloaks

of evil

for the chance

to stand

in the ante rooms

of privilege

for their own

gains.

And,

forsaking God

and the commandments

to serve the poor

to wash the feet

of the traveler

and to feed

the hungry,

their voices

are now like

clanging cymbals

and hollow

trumpets filled

with bile

and

waste.
