Beauty Triumphs

April 19, 2014

There was snow on the cherry blossoms

outside my window this week.

The small, almost apologetic tree

had burst forth its beauty for

me and all others to enjoy.

But winter did not give way easily

and sent its cold, icy blanket to rest

atop those blossoms.

And so the battle was on;

between the beauty of spring

with its promise of warm days

and gentle breezes;

the battle was on between spring

and winter with its icy

cold winds that want to drain the life

out of all they touch.

But

I am here to say that

on this week

at this place

outside this window,

Beauty won.
