Composting Lives
So let us seek a composting life
one willing to celebrate decay
a harbinger path to something new
yet unknown and unseen
turning over the remains of yesterday;
the dead leaves of last year’s beauty
the left overs; the spoiled efforts
the over-ripe desires
the shells of hollow success
the husks of good intentions
the stems of hopes and buds of failures
turning it all over with this year’s
errant growth spurts and wilting blossoms
letting the air in; allowing the rains of today
to break apart the past; letting it rot
back to its base elements
that through the mixing and melting
there will be energy released
the circle restarted.
