a crack is the yielding​​ 

to forces that want

to destroy​​ 

to rend asunder

through a​​ prevailing

mixture​​ of​​ stress

from unseen forces

but the crack

allows the pressure

to be released​​ 

by creating an opening;

a passage of sorts

for whatever light

or air

that there is

and thereby the crack

becomes an integral

part of the whole

with all the potential

to grow​​ ever larger

or to become a

bridge
