You speak to me of the economy
and I must ask of you of which
economy do you speak?
Will this economy, of which
you are concerned, seek a balance
that leads to living for all; a thriving,
a giving and receiving and growing?
Or, will it lean towards an accumulation
that results in eventual death
by asphyxiation of even the victor?
For if it is the former, I will gladly
listen thinking of the economies
of the great oceans, those
of the primal forests and that of
the wide savannah plains.
No, please hear me out.
I will think of the economy of health
and that of learning and I will even
think of the economy of the spirit
with the soul at its center knowing that
nourishing the center will result
in an ever flowing river of return.
But if this economy is that of
the artificial exchange in the marketplace
in which a capital value is placed on
every living thing and every object
of beauty, then I will say, let us
concern ourselves first with the economies
of living and your economy will take care
of itself.
