The Mirrors of the White House

January 30, 2017

Into the Mirrors of Lincoln

Oh, mirror, mirror on this

wall of heros and patriots

who is the

fairest of them all?

Who is bigger than me?

Who is the smartest

of us all?

Who is loved more by

all the people of the world?

Who is richer, who is

more perfect in all

ways than me?

I love me, do you

love me

mirror, mirror

on the wall?

Mirror, speak!

I command you

to speak!

….

Mr. President,

I reflected Abraham Lincoln,

Abe was my friend.

I reflected Dwight Eisenhower,

Ike was my friend.

I reflected John Kennedy,

Jack was my friend.

I reflected Barak Obama

Barak was my friend.

You, Mr. President

are none of these.

They were not the

smartest or the richest

or the most perfect

but they sought

to be looking

not at me for their

confirmations and affirmations

but at the needs of their

world in their time.

You, sir, are looking at the

wrong reflection.
